Stay asleep and rest your head 

Don’t worry about a single thing 

Let the world go by while you’re in bed 

Keep ears shut against the sting 


Don’t bother making an opinion 

You’re nothing special anyway 

Just wait around looking on 

In this world no one stays 


But you can’t keep 

Your eyes shut for long 

Things blur and then you see 

People hurt others then cry to belong 


The shouting once unnoticed 

Becomes a roaring crowd 

Will you join or go around 

Can you see before the sun sinks down 


Stay asleep and rest your head 

Things continue to form and are new 

Let the world go by while you’re in bed
